Until age 4, I lived across from the planetarium in New York City. My main past time was roaming the halls, gazing in awe at how big and cool the universe was. I did FIRST FRC robotics in High School and became interested in engineering. Since then, my passion for math has led me to be interested in aircraft design and control. During my time at WPI and in my professional life, I have worked on designing components for aircraft.
In 2019 into 2020 I worked on a team of four people to design a VTOL package delivery aircraft. Given constraints by our Professors, we competed with two other teams to maximize our payload delivery, flight time, and number of flight legs that could be automated. Our team wrote a report on the project as well.
After I did analysis on potential airfoils, my team and I 3D printed an airfoil for wind tunnel testing
One problem our team faced was our 3D printing being heavier than expected. This upset the static stability of our aircraft. With a weight limit of 3Kg, I had to propose changes to make our aircraft statically stable
Inspired by seagulls, this project is focused on designing a long range surveillance UAV to assist ocean lifeguards with patrolling the ocean. Currently this project is in the design phase. After speaking with East Hampton Town's chief lifeguard and establishing a business case, I have been working on making design decisions for the airfoil, control system, and camera.
Rip currents are a major danger along the ocean. A UAV that patrols the coast can spot potential victims in unguarded areas and give rescuers valuable time to make a save
The mass of the proposed aircraft was varied to see how the velocity of the maximum lift to drag ratio changed
This was a design project for a course at WPI. I worked with a colleague and conducted a literature review, trade studies, and assessed flight characteristics. I also helped to determine the static stability of the jet trainer. A report our team wrote is here.
